Forget AI Stocks - Invest In This Instead

Remember all the talk about Metaverse? I had already forgotten about it until I stumbled upon it when looking for new trends. You might have to, especially as it is not called Metaverse and clumsy glasses are not involved. If you are over 30 you are probably not aware of what is actually trending. Mainstream media is yet to report it.

Just like TikTok picked up on ChatGPT in October 2022 and CNBC reported it in February 2023, there will always be a lag even in the high-speed information age we live in. If you want to invest early, you got to look what people in their early twenties are doing. I bought Microsoft shares immediately in October 2022 when I found about Chat GPT and now that I found out about this existing (!) metaverse trend there is another stock I will buy. But this time I will bet big.

So What Is It?

2023 was the year of Chat GPT and 2024 is the year of GTA RP. GTA RP stands for Grand Theft Auto Role Play. The game streaming platform Twitch has evolved to what Facebook could only dream of. (I thought hardcore gamers watched other people play challenging games on Twitch in order to improve their skills. Turns out that’s not the case). The RP angle has turned the game environment to the fastest growing metaverse. You bring NPC’s (Non-Playable Character) to life and interact with others in a 3D environment. You can even buy stocks and cryptocurrencies within the game (ButCoin instead of BitCoin, but still…) The gamers with strong personalities and long streaming hours tend to get paid the most. The interaction in the chat and the live footage of the actual gamer makes the RP arguably more interesting to watch than Netflix.

What Listed Stocks Will Benefit?

Twitch is owned by Amazon and it is doubtful whether the explosive growth of Twitch users in 2024 will move the stock price of Amazon. But Cfx.re, the team behind the biggest roleplay and creator communities FiveM and RedM (and basically GTA RP) are since last year a part of Rockstar Games (the creator of GTA). The publicly listed company Take Two Interactive (TTWO) in turn owns Rockstar Games. If TTWO play their cards right (start for instance rolling in real companies into the RP environment) they will blow up. So my money is on TTWO.

If You Are Looking For Venture Capital…

Step 1: Look into the possibility to integrate your service or product in the RP landscape. Forget AI (it’s too late).
